As a volunteer you work at a school in the beautiful surroundings of the village Keramas where you teach English to children from the local community. Keramas is about 20 minutes east of Ubud. Besides teaching, there are also possibilities to give lessons focused on recycling, organic farming and computers. This project is not located in a tourist area so you have the opportunity to get to know the real Bali.
As a volunteer you work in Ubud, the cultural center of Bali. In the morning you teach at a local preschool where you give the children basic English classes through games and creative workshops. In the afternoon you can teach English, computer courses and organic farming at a youth center. The center offers free education for underprivileged children from Ubud and surrounding villages. It is very important for these children to learn English in order to improve their future chances for a job in the tourism industry.
This project provides underprivileged Balinese kids with free education. There are children with and without disabilities who join this school. There are children with down syndrome or a form of autism. The project is located in the beautiful village Bedulu, near the cultural city of Ubud. In the morning you can assist the local teachers during the classes with the mentally challenged children and in the afternoon you can teach English to the other children who come to the project when they finish their classes at the local government school. If you prefer not to work with the children with disabilities, it is also possible to only teach English at this project. A challenging project in a beautiful setting!
