Physiotherapy for Nieng

Nieng is the youngest son of our cook Kee. His two older brothers Samnang and Sey Ha are both students at the PURE! Dream Centre. Nieng is 4 years old and has a kind of spasm. At the PDC we have known Nieng for a while, he joins his brothers regularly to the PDC when no one can watch him. At first he found it a bit scary, but nowadays he seems to enjoy it.

Nieng is very limited in things and isn't getting the help he should get. It's a pity, because he is a clever boy and he really wants to learn and develop. If we do not act now, his future will not look good.

Fortunately Nieng has very loving parents and two brothers who are wishing the best for him. Yet it is very difficult for them to take action themselves. They miss a network, do not know where to go and have very limited financial resources. That is why we are searching for a better solution for Nieng and his family.

Good news because we have recently found this solution. The plan is to bring Nieng twice a week to the Angkor Hospital for Children in Siem Reap. They have a good physio ward where they will work with Nieng as well with his parents. They will learn what exercises to do at home with Nieng to reach optimal results. Nieng recently had his first meeting which took a look at his options for the future. This research showed that Nieng can learn to talk and there's a good chance that he will learn to walk too. Well, that's more for the long term, but it is a message that brings hope and makes us believe this small investment is worth it!

We are looking for a sponsor for Nieng who wants to help finance the transportation which is necessary to get Nieng to the hospital. Pisat's father is willing to do so at a reduced rate. The money will not only help Nieng to the hospital, but flows back as a small income for another family of the PDC.

For a period of six months, the costs will be 160 euros. The first sponsors have donated. Thank you Annemieke en Erwin! We'll have to wait and see what is needed after the first 6 months of therapy.
