Since the beginning of the PDC children brush their teeth daily. Important because their teeth have a lot to endure. Brushing with toothpaste is for most people very expensive. In Cambodia people clean themselves at the pump or in a ditch. The children brushed their teeth outside all the time to brush and rinse their mouth with water from the pump. Although it was not strange for us, it was a little bit dirty. It's daily 60 mouthwashes.
Two volunteers, Maaike and Bart, who helped at the PDC last month, raised money at home by organizing a lot of different actions and they wanted to help us with a solution.
Now, a few weeks later, it's almost finished .... There is a steel construction which a large tank. This tank can be filled with fresh water every day. It's connected to three large cranes over a long stainless steel sink. Maaike made a beautiful wall painting together with the other volunteers and now it looks very great. Starting from next week, the children ar allowed to brush their teeth and rinse their mouth at one place.... In the sink.
Maaike and Bart thank you very much for your financial and creative support. We're very grateful you gave this to us!
